Messily coherent, Acoustic Tracks 2020 came into existence as a collection of acoustic guitar melodies. Seemingly a meditation on the group’s folk side over its harsher, noise elements, this release is steadily constructed with an eclectic atmosphere of bluesy psychedelia.
Released on Now Now Just Now in July, the Loose Ends’ debut EP is a maelstrom of low-end riffs, drenched in a miasma of effects that frequently channels more shoegaze than the seventies psychedelia referenced by the band. In short, it’s a dream Endless Daze set from the heart of Cape Town psych rock that maintains the edge and vigour of live performance without sacrificing an ounce of studio polish.
Runaway Nuns have released their video of The Sideways Session, filmed and recorded earlier this year at The Sideways Building in Woodstock. The Nuns performed four songs from their new album, Spit, which was released on Now Now Just Now on the 15th of May.
